The 2014 Annual Conference was held on October 26-29, at the Radisson El Paso Airport Hotel in El Paso. This was the association's 19th annual conference.

The conference got off to a great start when members were welcomed to El Paso by County Judge Veronica Escobar. Also helping set the tone for the conference were Roger Martinez, El Paso JPD Chief; Maggie Morales-Aina, West Texas CSCD Director; and, David Nativida, Assistant DCPO for the Western District of Texas U.S. Probation Office.

TCSA board member, Israel Tena, who works as the Community Engagement Officer with the El Paso JPD, did a stellar job at chairing this conference. Israel worked tirelessly to make this conference a success.

Presentations were diverse in their subject matter, but relevant to the training needs of our membership. Topics covered included liability, mental health, border challenges, ADA, community service research, and much more.

Staying true to our tradition, TCSA awarded canned goods and a cash donation to a local food pantry. In this case, the Valley Community Food Pantry was the local recipient of both the canned goods and a $1,000 cash donation.
